My name is Carolyn Jordan. This is my 11th year teaching at Barnette, where I have taught everything from middle school English/Literature and 6th grade Core to 1st-3rd grade science and social studies, with a bit of theater, Star Wars & Greek Myths, and Harry Potter & the Brothers Grimm thrown in. I love to teach and I love to learn. Kids embody energy, hope and enthusiasm. There is never a dull moment at the front of the classroom, as I am always learning something new.
I am wife of Dan, mother of Isaac & William, and owner of Balou & Crystal, our two sweet dogs. My favorite color is green (because it's so rare in Fairbanks for most of the year) and my favorite children's author would have to be either Brandon Mull, Nancy Farmer, or the classical Ursula K. LeGuin. It's tough to decide. Wonder, however, is my favorite children's book. Reading that book makes my heart sing. My favorite mathematical oddity is the mobius strip (see here for Vi Hart's great video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mdEsouIXGM).
