Friday, May 15 was our last day of online lessons. All borrowed Chromebooks were due back to Barnette by Friday afternoon. So, for Monday and Tuesday, our last two days of school, instead of online lessons, here are a few suggested activities (both computer and non-computer).
Organize Google Drive
Create a folder titled 6th grade and earlier. Drag all docs into the folder.
Better yet, create a separate folder for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. Drag docs, as above.

Map out a plan for summer (and beyond).
Use a calendar or notebook
Open this Google Slide Planner. Make a copy and start filling in your plan.
Set up a comfortable place to read and write. Maybe even set up one outside and one inside.
Read books and magazines from home
If you have a computer, go to ReadWriteThink for middle school level literacy activities.
Borrow books online for free at Sora.
Do a little science. Find activities at:
Science Buddies
Mystery Science
Continue to practice math skills
Prodigy
Or learn some new, middle school math at
Purplemath
Open-Up Math
Create, build, design, cook, bake something
The entire summer can be an extended Genius Hour (click for ideas)
If you want to keep working online with a bunch of resources in one place and a little more structure (first link) or a lot more structure (second link), try:
eLearning Choice Board
Daily schedule w/Choice Board
I will be at Barnette on Tuesday, from 9:15-10:30 to hand out certificates and treats to my 6th graders. I hope you can make it there to say goodbye.
Finally, I hope you all rest up, relax and enjoy the summer. You are all welcome to keep in contact with me throughout the summer. I’ll check my email periodically. I look forward to hearing from you.
